Order & Cancellation Policies

Standard Orders

Products available for direct purchase through our website require a minimum of 48 hours notice. If you need something sooner, you're always welcome to call or email the shop and we'll do our best to help.

Made to Order

The following items are modified from our standard products and require a minimum of one week's notice:

  • Heart cakes
  • Vintage style cakes
  • Number cakes
  • Any cake with a custom writing request

If you need something sooner, please reach out directly by phone or email. Our stated lead times are minimums and we're always happy to try to accommodate when we can.

Standard & Made to Order Cancellation Policy

All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds. Date change or store credit requests must be submitted at least one week prior to your scheduled pickup date. Requests made less than one week out cannot be accommodated.

Custom Orders

Fully custom cakes, custom flavor cakes, cookies, and macarons require a minimum of one week's notice and are subject to availability. To begin a custom inquiry, [click here →] or reach us at Orders@buttercakery.com.

If you need something sooner than one week, don't hesitate to call or email the shop — our stated lead time is a minimum and we're always happy to see what we can do.

Custom Order Deposits & Payment

All custom cake orders over $1,000 require a non-refundable 50% deposit to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your event. Orders under $1,000 are paid in full at the time of booking. Your date is not held until payment is received.

Custom Order Cancellations

All deposits are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your order, please notify us as soon as possible.

  • Cancellations made 30 or more days before your event date will not be charged the remaining balance.
  • Cancellations made fewer than 30 days before your event date may be subject to the full order balance, as ingredients and labor will have already been committed.

Date Changes

We will do our best to accommodate date changes based on availability. Date change requests must be made at least 30 days in advance and are not guaranteed. If we are unable to accommodate your new date, your order will be treated as a cancellation under the terms above.

Design Changes

Minor design adjustments are welcome up to 30 days before your event. Significant changes requested after that point may affect pricing and are subject to our availability.

Force Majeure

Butter Cakery is not responsible for cancellations or delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including severe weather, natural disaster, or other events that make delivery or production impossible. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule when possible.

Allergens

Our kitchen is not allergen-free. We work with gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, and other common allergens. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies before placing your order. Butter Cakery is not liable for allergic reactions resulting from undisclosed allergen information.
